Nigerians Become Puppet Maniacs!
There is no better way
to attract a crowd of children and introduce them to the Gospel message than
through the exciting medium of puppet ministry. Sonja and I have been
puppeteers since the early 70's. As trends have changed and society has
modernized we have retooled some of our presentations, but we have yet to
put away our puppets. They work and we are determined to use what works!
We were invited by Rev. and Mrs. Ndubueze Oti and the Children's Education
Department of the Nigerian Assemblies of God to conduct three identical
Puppet Festivals in three distinct regions of this vast nation. The
conditions were harsh, we perspired until we were dehydrated, the delegates
battled to sleep on mats in overcrowded hostels, but in the end all three
conferences were a smashing success.
Jackson's Ridge has established Puppet Ministry in Nigeria! Puppeteers have
been trained, puppet teams have been formed and puppet mania has infected
children's workers across Nigeria. The dividend of this investment will be
countless children won to the kingdom and added to the church.
A special "thanks" goes to BGMC for the purchase and placement of 20
Jackson's Ridge Puppet creations with key puppeteers in Nigeria. Deep
gratitude goes to YOU, our supporters, who made this trip possible. This
three week tour cost Jackson's Ridge about $4000 at a time when we where
financially strapped. We believed we needed to take a step of faith and
proceed with our commitment to Nigeria and God has met the need through you.
